Community. Cannabis. Caring.
The Verdes Foundation is a licensed nonprofit producer that cares about giving back to the community we serve.
We aim to bolster the community through charitable giving and sponsorships that will positively impact New Mexico.
We give back to our community in many ways, primarily through our in-store bag credit donations.
Three organizations are selected and featured throughout the year in our dispensaries. Our clients learn about the programming and services that each organization provides and decide where they would like to place their credit for donation. These bag credits amount to $500 – $1000 micro-grants for organizations in our community.
The Verdes Foundation’s 2020 top funding priorities support organizations and missions that:
- Focus on social justice including: civil rights, immigrant rights, and juvenile justice
- Support local community farms and agriculture
We also have limited sponsorship opportunities for organizations that are doing great work in our community. These sponsorships support organizations doing work in social justice, agriculture, health & wellness, and the arts.
The application to apply for Verdes sponsorship is open until all available funding has been awarded.
Additional support may be available to organizations that fall outside of our top funding priorities as identified by the community relations team.
Verdes has provided funding for numerous organizations throughout the area including: Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice, New Mexico Black History Organizing Committee, New Day Youth & Family Services, and Epilepsy Support & Education Services.
The Green Team
Thank you to everyone who volunteered with us at Roadrunner Food Bank!
The Green Team an initiative that engages the cannabis community in service driven projects.
The Green Team’s first project took place through a back to school drive supported by The Verdes Foundation, Bhang New Mexico, Sandia Botanicals, AHL Year Round Garden Supply and Southwest Capital Bank. Collectively the group donated over 250 backpacks and general school supplies to Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) in partnership with the Corporate Volunteer Council.
Medically Orphaned Pets (MOPs)
In 2015, The Verdes Foundation created a separate nonprofit dedicated to finding homes for pets whose caregiver has become unable to care for them due to medical illness.
Medically Orphaned Pets, known as MOPS, was created to help find forever homes for these animals. MOPS provides temporary foster care and works to find homes for these pets, while assisting with the animal’s healthcare needs.
If you would like to make a finacial contribution to MOPs, please contact Shawna Brown at email@example.com.
If you are interested in becoming a forever home to a MOPs pet, let us know and we will keep your information on file as new housing opportunities arise.
