How-to dose tincture:

Tinctures are one of the most popular smoking alternative products among patients. Though it is easy to consume (you can place a few drops under your tongue), it can be one of the most challenging products to dose. In the following how-to we will guide you through an easy to use formula for dosing our tinctures. This formula can be used for any tincture regardless of the amount of CBD or THC in the bottle.

Step 1:

Understand the basic quantities found in your tincture. Remember:

  • 1 bottle = 30 dropper fulls
  • 1 dropper full = 35-40 drops*
  • Xmg THC or CBD will be the measurement of medicine in your tincture (150, 250, 500, 750)

*It is important to know that this measurement ranges (35-40 drops) because it is not guaranteed that each drop will be the exact same amount. This means that one drop can be slightly smaller or larger each time.

Step 2:

Calculate the amount of medicine in each dropper full. Divide the amount of medicine by 30. This will give you the dose of medicine per dropper.

Step 3:

Calculate the amount of medicine in each drop. Divide the dose of medicine per dropper by 35. This will give you the dose of medicine per drop.

Step 4:

This step is to help you determine how many drops you need to reach your desired dose. Divide your desired does by the amount of medicine per drop. This will give you the number of drops you should take to reach your desired dose.

Learning how to dose tincture gives you control over your medicine. This is just one of many reasons we believe medical cannabis is an empowering addition to our patients’ wellness regimen. If you have any additional questions our staff at Verdes is happy to help!
